Description
Brestovska cave (Brestovská jaskyňa) was the first opened cave of Orava and in the Western Tatras. The underground corridors were shaped by the submerged water stream during the early and middle quaternary. The water stream is still to this day flowing through the bottom parts of the cave.
The narrow corridors of the cave don´t allow to let in large groups of visitors, however this makes it a better experience for you. If you want to visit the cave it is necessary to make a reservation in advance either by e-mail or a phone call. The cave is located in the Zuberec Valley near the open-air museum and the parking lot is located close to the cave near the wooden amphitheater.
